Estimado Trabajador de Restaurante,

Gracias por su servicio en este restaurante kosher. La comunidad judía depende de su esfuerzo por mantener nuestra tradición de Kashrut (las leyes dietéticas judias). Le estamos sumamente agradecidos por su compromiso.

La Torá (la biblia, Deuteronomio 24:14) dice que empleadores no deben oprimir a sus empleados. Por lo tanto la comunidad judía esta profundamente comprometida con los derechos del trabajador. Uri L'Tzedek (Despiértate a la Justicia social), una organización social judía, le concede el Tav HaYosher (sello ético) al restaurante en que usted trabaja. El propósito del Tav HaYosher es garantizar que los trabajadores en restaurantes autorizados por la ley judía, como usted mismo, son tratados apropiadamente en los siguientes tres aspectos: 

1. Que se les paga semanalmente por encima del salario mínimo establecido por la ley y que se les paga por tiempo extra trabajado.

2. Que se les da un día libre por semana y un tiempo libre diariamente. 

3. Que se les provee de seguridad laboral y no son acosados, ni abusados, ni se los discrimina durante el trabajo. 

¡Todos trabajadores son protegidos por estos derechos legales! Un representante de Uri L'Tzedek visitara al restaurante donde usted trabaja cada 6 a 8 semanas para asegurarse que su empleador respeta estos derechos fundamentales. Si usted prefiere, Uri L'Tzedek le proveerá a alguien que le hable en español. Esperamos que se sienta libre de hablar con nosotros con toda honestidad.

El propósito de nuestras visitas no es investigar condiciones de trabajo comúnes a la mayoría de los lugares como el chisme o  las malas relaciones entre los empleados. Nuestro propósito es asegurarnos que a usted le pagan por encima del salario mínimo, que le pagan horas extra, que tiene tiempo libre diariamente, y que a usted no se lo discrimina ni se lo abusa.

Los que usted comparte con Uri L'Tzedek será estrictamente confidencial. Su supervisor se ha comprometido en que no habrán repercusiones negativas ni represalias si usted habla con un representante de Uri T'zedek. Thank you for your service in this kosher restaurant. The Jewish community relies upon your efforts to uphold our tradition of Kashrut (Biblical dietary laws). We are all very grateful for your commitment.

The Torah (The Bible, Deuteronomy 24:14) states that employers cannot oppress employees.  Therefore, the Jewish community is deeply committed to worker rights. Uri L'Tzedek (Awaken to Justice), a Jewish social justice organization, is awarding the Tav HaYosher (The Ethical Seal) to the restaurant you work in. The purpose of the Tav HaYosher (The Ethical Seal) is to ensure that workers in kosher restaurants, such as yourself, are properly secured in three areas:  
 
1.      Paid minimum wage, paid overtime, paid weekly  
 
2.      Given a day off and given breaks 
 
3.      That you work in a safe work environment and are not harassed, abused, or discriminated against while at work.  
  
All workers are protected by these legal rights! A representative from Uri L'Tzedek will be visiting the restaurant every 6-8 weeks to ensure that these basic rights are maintained.    If you would prefer to be speaking in Spanish, then Uri L'Tzedek will supply a Spanish speaker.  Please feel free to be honest and share your experiences with Uri L'Tzedek. 
 
The purpose of the visit is not to investigate working conditions common to most workplaces such as workplace gossip or typical poor working relationships.  The purpose is to ascertain that you are receiving minimum wage, overtime, and proper breaks, and that you are not being discriminated against or harassed.  
  
Anything shared with Uri L'Tzedek will be strictly confidential. Your supervisor has agreed that you will face no consequences for talking to a representative of Uri L'Tzedek.
