SPRING SHABBATON 2010!
Join Uri L’Tzedek for a College Shabbaton February 19-20th at New York University! We will gather together
for a weekend of programming and
learning, networking, and action with Jewish social justice leaders from college campuses around the country. Together we will explore Jewish texts relating to issues of Orthodoxy and social justice, develop social justice visions for our campus communities, and build relationships with other student leaders.
Uri L’Tzedek is seeking college students who are committed to the mission of Uri L’Tzedek: education, leadership development, and action to create discourse, inspire leaders and empower the Jewish community toward creating a more just world. This shabbaton is part of Uri L’Tzedek’s college initiative, striving to develop a community of social justice leaders on campuses across the country. The shabbaton is free and includes housing, food and learning. For more information and to RSVP, please email Shoshie Sprague (

Summer 2010 Fellowship

From June 29th to August 7th of 2009, Uri L'Tzedek ran its inaugural Summer Fellowship Program, and it was a great success. Uri L'Tzedek is very proud of its Fellows. To learn more about these fine young activists, visit the Fellows' page!
Uri L'Tzedek is now accepting applications from college and graduate students for our 2nd annual Summer Fellowship Program! This 6-week program is an opportunity to work alongside Uri L'Tzedek's staff and board, experiencing the many mechanisms that come together to create an effective non-profit organization, gaining exposure to communal Jewish life, effecting change, and learning Torah, social justice philosophy, and community organizing models.
Fellows will be based in New York City and will dedicate their time to some of the following innovative projects: Tav HaYosher (the ethical seal for kosher restaurants), organizational development, communications, education, service, community outreach, website development, multi-media, and technology.

Fellows will participate in weekly seminars focusing on the role of social justice in the Torah, workshops devoted to social justice and community organizing, and dialogues about the religious and emotional dimensions of the Fellowship. Sessions will be led by Uri L'Tzedek's staff and board, local rabbis, and social justice professionals. Uri L'Tzedek Fellows are volunteers.
